FAQ

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions by panel members. Please contact me at Janet_Hall@HTIonline.com if you have any additional questions.

What is the Home Testing Institute?

Home Testing Institute, or HTI, is our exclusive panel composed of people just like you! The HTI panel represents all of America. As a member, we’ll ask you what you think about the products and services you use everyday, through surveys we conduct via U.S. mail or on the World Wide Web. We’ll even ask you about your opinions on new products before they enter the consumer marketplace. Being an HTI panel member gives you a great deal of influence in the products and services you buy and use everyday!

Does it cost anything to join?

Absolutely not! We never charge any fees for being a member of our team. We’ll even pay for postage on all of our studies. We also pledge to never compromise the integrity of our relationship with you by trying to sell you anything. Our panel members are very important to us.

Who uses the information gathered from our panel members?

Our recruitment survey collects your contact information (such as name, address and zip code) and demographic information (such as date of birth, household size and household income). Your contact information is used to notify you when there is a new survey opportunity or to communicate HTI panel member news (e.g., Sweepstakes Winners). Your demographic information will be combined with many other US households before we share it with our clients.

How is this information used?

All of the personal information we gather from you is kept completely confidential and is never released to anyone on an individual basis.

We guarantee it! Only companies who purchase our research are entitled to look at the feedback you provide in our surveys, and never your private household information. All information is looked at in combination with everyone else’s on our panel and is kept in our proprietary database.

For example, a client may ask, “What percent of Americans that have two or more adults living in the household visit our restaurants each month?” We would never tell them that the Smith household has two adults and visits the Burger Palace on Main St. at least once a week. We would only let our client know the percent of Americans who visit their restaurants and the percent of those people who like specific items. In order to tell them the demographic makeup of households in a survey, we must ask for our member’s demographic household information. The more accurate the information, the more accurately you will represent all of America.

What types of surveys does HTI conduct?

We conduct all types of research. One month, we may ask you to complete a packet of mini-surveys on various topics, the next we may ask you to try a new product being introduced in the marketplace and ask you to let us know what you think about it. Your input will directly influence the manufacturers and service providers who develop the products and services you use everyday!

What benefits do I receive from being part of the Home Testing Institute team?

The most important benefit you’ll receive for participating in our research studies is that your feedback will improve the quality of products and services offered in the marketplace today and in the future. You can make a difference. You’ll be sent new products to test occasionally and from time to time we’ll offer small gifts and prizes as a token of our appreciation for your help. We do value your opinions.

How do I become part of the Home Testing Institute team?

Just complete all of the information requested on our recruitment form to join our team. You should receive your first survey within six to eight weeks. Once you complete and return your first survey, your opinions will have an immediate impact on the consumer marketplace!

Why should I join the Home Testing Institute team?

To tell today’s largest manufacturers and service providers what you want to see in their products! You can make an impact on everyday necessities that surround you: the milk you drink, the fast food you pick up for lunch, the gas you put in your car, or even the type of services offered at your local bank. This is your opportunity to make your opinions count and to tell them what you think!
